RV Maintenance Duties

When you own an RV, you intend to keep it in the best condition possible. There are simple things you can do yourself to keep it in great condition. You need to also do the same with tire pressure, which tends to change as the temperature fluctuates.

The battery will also need attention. You do not want to have to deal with a dead battery while out there. There is every reason to keep your fully charged at all times. You need to also check on the age of the battery. After three years, a well-maintained unit shall start to show signs of wear and tear. You need to think of getting a new one.

You should also do something about the wastewater system. It is important to keep this system well maintained. Anything less and you risk having it clogged up soon.

You need to also attend to the RV’s brakes. An RV is a large and bulky vehicle which needs powerful brakes to stop it at all times. Should they show signs of wear and tear; you need to replace them. This is for the sake of safety.

You need to also do something about the oil. RVs can go for long without oil changes. But it is wise to see to it that there is an oil change at every seasonal transition. Leaving the oil unchanged can cause the engine to die. You also need the air, fuel, coolant, and hydraulic filters changed regularly. These ahold also be addressed at the oil change session.

There also needs to become attentive to the awning.

The electrical wiring shall also need the inspection. The connection to the tow vehicle is most important. There are safety concerns to consider. You need it if the brakes and lights are to work properly.
