Different Types of Cranes

Transfer of small and medium-sized loads over a short distances can be done using a mechanical instrument that is known as a crane. Bridge cranes and gantry cranes are some of the variety designs of cranes. To add on that, they are either mobile or fixed. More to that, they are either driven manually or by power. One of the types of cranes that cannot be molded to be an industrial vehicle is the bridge mounted crane. Gantry crane is also referred to as overhead travelling bridge cranes. A bay that moves on two trucks mounted on each wall is connected to the bridge crane by a beam. Apart from bridge and gantry cranes, there are others like the forklift crane attachments and jib cranes. Cranes are differentiated with sizes because all of them are used differently.

Gantry crane is available in two categories. These cranes are either found in aluminum or steel form although they depend on how they are going to be used. Two upright beams and a cross beam are found in many gantry cranes. They have also frame legs that have casters that enables them to be mobile. These types of cranes can be used for different purposes. One of them is moving large molds, parts, and containers from or into other workstations. You will find these cranes in industries or warehouses. The reason for this is because transportation of heavy elements from one location to another within the work area is done using these cranes.

Bridge cranes are the ones that are used to either move or lift objects from one place to another although this should be done along one area. Due to their difference in terms of usage, the bridge cranes are built in all ways that will suit your needs. Bridge cranes have other configurations that are common, and the user benefits from them. Bridge cranes might have two rails that are fixed on a structure that exists in them. The structure has a cross beam that enables the movement of your trolley and hoist. Those bridge cranes that support themselves have upright beams. The floor is used to attach these beams.

Forklift crane attachments are the other type of crane. Forklift cranes are used in many cases in the movement of things that are small in size. Those that are telescoping are used to lift items that are long and also in pivoting. They are affordable because their price is a bit low when compared to other types of cranes. When buying cranes, one should consider looking at several factors. The weight of the items, how high you will lift them and the distance the crane will cover when moving are some of those factors you need to look at.
